Know how: Individualize the viflow WebModel

To increase identification with your company's viflow WebModel and user-friendliness, you have several options. You can not only integrate your own logo, change colors, integrate interesting hyperlinks, but also show or hide certain views.

Customize the appearance of the viflow WebModel

So that your employees know at first glance that they are in the right place, it is advisable to use your company logo and the company colors for the viflow WebModel.

 

 

Use your own logo

You can replace the logo under File – Options – Current Process Model. Click on Select… and open the corresponding image file from your file system.

Adjust color and layout

The colors and layout of the viflow WebModel can be changed during the export under File – Export – Export process model as WebModel in the third dialog. You can choose between two different layouts here. Both layouts are available in two color variants. Click on the square color area under Choose accent color to set a color that suits your company.

Integrate your own hyperlinks in the viflow WebModel

viflow offers you the option of displaying your own hyperlinks in the main menu of the viflow WebModel. During the export under File – Export – Export process model as WebModel, you can enter up to three hyperlinks in the fourth dialog. These can be called up in the viflow WebModel under Hyperlinks.

The personalized and anonymous WebModel

The viflow WebModel can be used in two modes. The anonymous WebModel excludes the comment function and the cockpit. These functions can be used in the personalized WebModel.

 

The anonymous WebModel

To export an anonymous WebModel, select Enable anonymous authentication in the fourth dialog during the export.

The personalized WebModel

The integration of an Active Directory is required to display or use the personalized WebModel. You will be recognized by the WebModel based on your Windows login information and can then set up the cockpit individually and use the comment function.

 

Individualize the Cockpit

You have the option of creating an individual cockpit that clearly displays the topics of interest to you in the form of widgets. Here you can see, for example, whether there are new comments on your processes or whether there have been changes to your processes or the processes you are monitoring.

Select the Cockpit main menu item in the viflow WebModel to open the Cockpit with the My processes, My information and My areas widgets.

Open widgets

Widgets can be added using the plus symbol in the bottom right-hand corner.

Close widgets

To close widgets, click on the cross in the top right-hand corner of the corresponding widget.

Enlarge and reduce widgets

You can change the size of widgets by moving the mouse over the right-hand edge of a widget and dragging the widget smaller or larger.

Move widgets

Widgets can be moved via drag-and-drop. To do this, click in the header of the relevant widget and drag it to the desired position.

Administrative settings in the WebModel

The WebModel offers you the option of showing or hiding certain menu items or views for all WebModel users.

Important: To prevent items from being accidentally hidden, it is recommended that you only allow this option for certain groups of users. You can revoke or grant the authorization via the authorization management. For more information, read the article Authorization: "Administer WebModel – Set up permissions" in our knowledgebase..

To show or hide elements in the viflow WebModel, go to Settings in the main menu on the right-hand side. Under Administrative settings, you can now activate or deactivate various items using the switches.

Administrative settings in the anonymous WebModel

It is also possible to register in an anonymous WebModel. The prerequisite for this is that you allow login to the WebModel via Yes in the User properties – Management – WebModel login.

After you have assigned a password for this user, he can log in to the WebModel when the WebModel is called up with the addition …/login.

Change the name of the viflow WebModel

The name "viflow WebModel" is displayed by default in the browser tab.

If you want to change this, open the file PathToYourWebModel\wwwroot\index.html in a text editor such as the pre-installed Windows editor. In the fourth line you will see the code <title>viflow WebModel</title>. Enter the new name between the tags <title>...</title> and save the file. The browser tab now shows the name you have chosen.
