April 18 and 21, 2025 are public holidays in Germany. Our office will therefore be closed on these days.
From April 22nd we will be there for you as usual.
With a few small tricks, working with our process modeling tool viflow can be greatly simplified.
To increase identification with your company's viflow WebModel and user-friendliness, you have several options. You can not only integrate your own logo, change colors, integrate interesting hyperlinks, but also show or hide certain views.
So that your employees know at first glance that they are in the right place, it is advisable to use your company logo and the company colors for the viflow WebModel.
You can replace the logo under File – Options – Current Process Model. Click on Select… and open the corresponding image file from your file system.
The colors and layout of the viflow WebModel can be changed during the export under File – Export – Export process model as WebModel in the third dialog. You can choose between two different layouts here. Both layouts are available in two color variants. Click on the square color area under Choose accent color to set a color that suits your company.
viflow offers you the option of displaying your own hyperlinks in the main menu of the viflow WebModel. During the export under File – Export – Export process model as WebModel, you can enter up to three hyperlinks in the fourth dialog. These can be called up in the viflow WebModel under Hyperlinks.
The viflow WebModel can be used in two modes. The anonymous WebModel excludes the comment function and the cockpit. These functions can be used in the personalized WebModel.
To export an anonymous WebModel, select Enable anonymous authentication in the fourth dialog during the export.
The integration of an Active Directory is required to display or use the personalized WebModel. You will be recognized by the WebModel based on your Windows login information and can then set up the cockpit individually and use the comment function.
You have the option of creating an individual cockpit that clearly displays the topics of interest to you in the form of widgets. Here you can see, for example, whether there are new comments on your processes or whether there have been changes to your processes or the processes you are monitoring.
Select the Cockpit main menu item in the viflow WebModel to open the Cockpit with the My processes, My information and My areas widgets.
Widgets can be added using the plus symbol in the bottom right-hand corner.
To close widgets, click on the cross in the top right-hand corner of the corresponding widget.
You can change the size of widgets by moving the mouse over the right-hand edge of a widget and dragging the widget smaller or larger.
Widgets can be moved via drag-and-drop. To do this, click in the header of the relevant widget and drag it to the desired position.
Note: You can find more information on personalizing the cockpit in the viflow WebModel in our viflow knowledgebase: Customizing the WebModel Cockpit.
The WebModel offers you the option of showing or hiding certain menu items or views for all WebModel users.
Important: To prevent items from being accidentally hidden, it is recommended that you only allow this option for certain groups of users. You can revoke or grant the authorization via the authorization management. For more information, read the article Authorization: "Administer WebModel – Set up permissions" in our knowledgebase..
To show or hide elements in the viflow WebModel, go to Settings in the main menu on the right-hand side. Under Administrative settings, you can now activate or deactivate various items using the switches.
It is also possible to register in an anonymous WebModel. The prerequisite for this is that you allow login to the WebModel via Yes in the User properties – Management – WebModel login.
After you have assigned a password for this user, he can log in to the WebModel when the WebModel is called up with the addition …/login.
The name "viflow WebModel" is displayed by default in the browser tab.
If you want to change this, open the file PathToYourWebModel\wwwroot\index.html in a text editor such as the pre-installed Windows editor. In the fourth line you will see the code <title>viflow WebModel</title>. Enter the new name between the tags <title>...</title> and save the file. The browser tab now shows the name you have chosen.
